Alpbach offers 145 km of skiing and 17km of cross country skiing as part of the newly formed Ski Jewel ski area. Alpbach boasts a modern link, via tow new gondolas, to the Wildschonau ski domain, which includes the resort of Niederau and Oberau.
Alpbach is easily accessible and makes an ideal base from which to explore the area attractions: Picturesque, medieval Rattenberg, Austria´s smallest town, the farmhouse museum and lakes in Kramsach or the magnificent castles near Brixlegg. Tirol´s capital, Innsbruck, is only 60km away and offers a wide range of sights and attractions.
Alpbach attracts an average of 22,000 guests in the summer and about the same number in the winter. Other popular winter activities include walking, sledding, skating, curling, swimming, sauna bathing. In addition Alpbach boasts a great number of indoor sports facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, etc. There are still 105 working farms in the area - about the same number as 100 years ago.
