Ski Holidays in Ellmau, Austria
The attractive village of Ellmau and its pretty little neighbouring village of Going, have a special Austrian atmosphere, nestling between the Kitzbüheler Alps and the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountains. The relaxed village centre has a range of shops and is dotted with cosy bars and cafés. Near to home the Astberg skiing has some good runs and gives great views of the Kitzbühel valley. For the more adventurous the Hartkaiser links you into the fantastic Ski Welt circuit linking 8 resorts with over 250kms of piste. Ellmau really is a great choice of resort for everyone.
The area is popular and the number of skiers is often large but the resort seems to absorb them all. The skiing is best characterised by gentle tree-lined runs that are best suited to the beginner or early intermediate. More advanced terrain has to be sought slightly further afield in the Ski Welt area. The area is certainly interesting to explore for even the novice skier and the sign posts can help to guide the skier on excursions to other ski areas in the Ski Welt.
