Ski Holidays in Maria Alm, Austria

Nestling in a green, unspoiled, natural landscape in front of a backdrop of the Steinerne Meer range and the Hochkönig, lies Maria Alm with its two mountain villages, Hintermoos and Hinterthal.

Maria Alm offers impressive views and a feeling of well-being and enjoyment for the whole family. The skiing region stretches across Maria Alm, Aberg, Hintermoos, Hinterthal as far as Dienten and Mühlbach am Hochkönig. His majesty, the almost 3,000 m high mountain Hochkönig, sits in state surrounded by amazing scenery.

Although steeped in Austrian tradition and presenting a picture-postcard image, Maria Alm offers the latest technology to enhance the enjoyment of the mountains. There is an excellent range of skiing for all levels, with a good mix of blue, red and black slopes. Although the snow record at Maria Alm is excellent, extra snow cannons were put in place in 2004, as well as a new FIS race

Apres ski
Maria Alm itself is a small village with typical bars and cafes as well as a disco. Other possibilities for evening activities for ski and snowboarding tours include torchlit walks, swimming and bowling in Maria Alm and ice skating in nearby Bischofshofen.
