St. Johann in Pongau is a short, 90 minute transfer from Salzburg and makes up part of Austria's Salzburger Sportwelt ski area. St. Johann is linked to the Wagrain and the resorts of Flachau and Filzmoos are a short bus ride away. The Salzburger Sportwelt ski area consists of 282km of piste, with St. Johann local area offering 33km of doorstep skiing and the largest resort, Flachau, boasting at 111km of runs. There is almost 1,400m of vertical drop and a great selection of beginner and intermediate skiing, along with a small selection of advanced skiing.

St. Johann in Pongau is a bustling town, rich in tradition and offering a great choice of bars restaurants. The neighbouring resort Alpendorf is a short distance up the valley and you can ski to the nearby resort of Wagrain. The more extensive skiing in Flachau, all part of the Salzburg Sportwelt ski area, is only a short bus ride away.
