You could even say that they don't really need to advertise themselves - their incredible classified reputation just spreads like wildfire among skiing and riding enthusiasts.

Perhaps one of the lesser known US resorts is the majestic Mammoth, confidently tucked in on the West Coast, where exceptional powder conditions on a challenging terrain come as totally standard. Add to this its superb quality accommodation, convenient lift systems and sophisticated cuisine and you have the recipe for a first class resort.
Serre Chevalier, France
One of the hidden jewels in France's crown has to be the charming villages of Serre Chevalier. These resorts together comprise an exciting, extensive ski area, with breathtaking scenery and superb on and off mountain, good value for money, wholesome French fare.

Although brought into the limelight by the Winter Olympics in 1994, Lillehammer has returned to its former sheltered glory. However, a holiday to this world class resort promises to bring an all encompassing experience with superb skiing, more non ski activities than you can shake a stick at and superb value for money quality accommodation.
Skiing enthusiasts should rush to experience the phenomenon that is Serfaus before it is promoted into the Premiership. Spain has done well to keep this one quiet! Its massive investment in its four base stations, extensive efficiently linked ski area over four valleys, superb quality of accommodation all considerably cheaper than their Alpine neighbours… you’d be mad not to get in there soon before they start putting the prices up!
St Sorlin d'Arves, France
This new and developing resort (shown below), nestled high in the Maurienne Valley and tucked between the Southern French Alps and the Tarentaise, shows huge promise for attracting skiers who otherwise might have opted for its more expensive European counterparts. The charming village is the ideal access point to the whole of the exciting yet still largely unknown Les Sybelles ski area.
