Introducing Geneve Designs

Ski fashion has come a long way in its 200 year history. From fluorescent jumpsuits to skin-tight Lyrca and baggy tall tee’s, the slopes have been a tell tale sign of social trends through the ages. Who knows what 2014 may hold, but for now we've found a unique company we are loving, who combine modern ski wear technology with classic vintage ski resort posters, which reflects these changing fashions. The best news is, we have one to give away!

Geneve Designs

Founded in 2002 in Boulder, Colorado, Neve Designs was created to bring high performance and quality craftsmanship together with sustainable fibres to form garments which are not only stylish, but built to last. Already selling their garments at specialist ski shops and fashion boutiques in North America, Australia and Europe, their next aim is to conquer the UK, with the help of Manchester-based Geneve Designs.

Geneve founder Chris commented: “Neve Designs is a fashionable yet extremely functional range, bringing elegance to the slopes and style to après ski! We are proud to represent Neve Designs in the UK.’

Geneve’s current collection is a range of colourful, vintage-style baselayers, which come in a range of ten different designs, some of which feature the popular resorts Chamonix, St. Anton and Courchevel. Each baselayer is crafted from Merino Wool, Silk and Spandex and is designed to move with you like a second skin, always restoring its original shape. The ‘Amo Neve’ design features a round neck, whilst the other pieces in the collection feature a high neck with adjustable zip fastening. As of February 2014, only the baselayers are available in the UK, however as of 2014/15 a wider range of garments and accessories from the collection, which Chris describes as ‘timeless and contemporary’, are set to become available.

We spoke to Chris to ask him a few more questions about the brand…

Geneve Designs

The baselayers feature some really eye-catching designs, which have a different look and feel to a lot of sports garments currently on the market. Tell us a little more about these pieces.

The Vintage Collection available exclusively for the 2013/4 season on notonthehighstreet.com, is inspired by iconic mountain imagery. Neve’s popular Vintage Collection features original artwork celebrating ski destinations around the world. Hand printed and available in limited quantities these have been worn by numerous celebrities wanting to stand out on the slopes this season.

In the words of Tom Irvine, CEO of Neve Designs, ‘the brand’s unique design aesthetic blends ski fashion elegance with the latest trends in ready-to-wear, to create pieces that are equally at home on the streets of New York as they are Aspen.’

What is your favourite thing about the brand?

My favourite thing about the brand is that the collection incorporates unique technical performance fabrics that are comfortable and easy to wear every day. They are a change from the normal base layers and allow people to bring style to the slopes.

Do you have a favourite piece from the collection?

My favourite piece is the Switzerland top, it’s red and is really bold so it stands out. It’s also one of our bestselling items, which helps!

You are planning to expand your collection soon – does this mean there will be a range for men too?

We are working with Neve Designs to create some exciting pieces ready for next season which will be for both men and women.

Are you planning on selling the collection in stores as well as online?

The collection will be in Snow + Rock from September 2014 as well as other stores - watch this space!

Finally, are you a keen skier / snowboarder yourself and, if so, do you have a favourite resort?

I am a very keen skier and my favourite resort has to be Beaver Creek, Colorado.

You can find Geneve Designs online at Not On The High Street or through their website, which is due to be launched soon.
