Hotel Passero Pellegrino, Claviere
An old favourite that always works really well. Good food, great position, well-run by Salvatore and his friendly family. Taverna type nightclub adjacent.
The hotel is well positioned only a couple of minutes from the nursery slope and the centre of the village. You just cross the road then walk for a minute or so to join the easy slope to the Claviere lifts. The Montgenevre chair is on the opposite side of the road as the hotel.
The Passero Pellegrino is a handsome old hotel, typical of the Piemonte, with good public facilities and lots of space. Continuous small investments keeps the hotel looking good and up to date. Recent improvements include a new sauna, gym, second lift and remodelled ski room. This has been equipped with new ski storage and boot warmers. The new carving skis and Salomon boots added last year have been a great success. Behind the scenes a new hot water system and kitchen have been added.
The lounge and dining room have lots of character with their wooden floors and good, solid, old fashioned furniture. There is an excellent and friendly bar with Sky TV. The food is excellent and includes a weekly gala dinner. Guests can use a convenient electronic billing system for bar bills etc.

Most of the rooms are for 2-4 in single beds. Many are apartment style rooms in a newer wing, which has its own video games room. The bedrooms are clean, and pleasant, and all have shower and WC, but we would say that most are good quality 2 star, not 3 star. Some have balcony.
