Ski Holidays in Courchevel Le Praz, France
Courchevel Le Praz (formerly Courchevel 1300) is the lowest of the four main Courchevel resorts but links by cablecar to Courchevel (1850) in just 7 minutes. The village has a number of permanent residents which helps to give it a more traditional Alpine village feel than the villages higher up, and families will enjoy exploring the narrow cobbled streets. The location for the 1992 Winter Olympics ski jumping, the village is overlooked by the jumps which are still in use today.
Most of the runs directly above Courchevel Le Praz are reds and blacks, and Intermediates
will enjoy returning home along the tree-lined pistes. Beginners
will be happier returning by bus or cable car after sessions on the nursery slopes or the good selection of green runs at Courchevel (1850)
or Courchevel Moriond (1650)
will no doubt want to explore the full area, taking in Meribel
and Val Thorens
as well as the extensive off-piste.
Le Praz is a traditional village set amidst the woodland and due to this quiet setting is ideal for a family holiday. Nightlife is quiet and centres around the local bars. Le Praz also has road access to the resort of La Plagne and its extensive ski area.
