Ski Holidays in La Clusaz, France

La Clusaz is one of the Haute Savoie’s best kept secrets for anyone who wants to be far from the madding crowd. Le Chinaillon, part of Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz have their own ski areas. They are one hour from Geneva airport and only 35 mins from Annecy TGV. L'Etale is a small village resort also linked to the ski area.

It is an idyllic unspoilt ski area, full of character and old farming chalets with cows making the milk for the local Reblochon cheese. They are ideal family resorts with lovely peaceful slopes into hidden valleys with solitary churches. Excellent off piste with spectacular views of the Aravis range. There are an abundance of mountain restaurants serving local specialities such as myrtille tarts and local cheeses, all at affordable prices. Ski schools are good for all ages and snowboarding is welcomed. Other activities include parapenting, this area reputedly has the best thermals in France, dog sleighs, with an international competition in January with over 150 teams and shopping in the local markets in Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz. Après ski is quiet except at weekends but this area is for those who want to be part of “les vrais montagnes.”
