On the edge of the Parc National de la Vanoise, La Norma is an incredibly easy resort to reach. Less than 10 minutes drive from the motorway exit near the TGV train station of Modane (4 hrs from Paris by train), it is just opposite the Fréjus tunnel to Italy.
Although a purpose built resort, La Norma was built in harmony with the surrounding tree-covered mountain. It is well designed and traffic free. The active Tourist Office organises entertainment for all - find out what at the weekly Sunday evening get together - and the informal après ski in the relaxed bars and restaurants, is excellent.
