Ski Holidays in Les Orres, France

Situated in the Hautes-Alpes region, 15 km from Embrun and 58 km from Gap, the resort of Les Orres is in the middle of a larch forest overlooking the Durance and the Serre-Poncon lake (15 km). Les Orres is divided into 3 main areas: Pramouton, Pre-Bois and Bois-Mean, and benefits from a good climate.

This friendly, purpose-built family resort is ideal for sport lovers and sun seekers. It has over 100km of pistes and a surprisingly varied range of skiing with something for everybody.

Beginners and intermediates are particularly well suited. Many nursery slopes are at altitude, giving beginners good snow conditions. Wide, gentle blues and well-designed lift system help keen learners progress smoothly.

Experts are not spoilt for choice but there's some terrific off piste and 3 blacks, one of which covers virtually the whole mountain, top to bottom.

Les Orres is a charming Savoyard village with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. The resort is quite lively but not rowdy, good for families and couples with excellent modern facilities and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Other activities
Hiking with snowshoes, cross-country skiing (the plateau of Charance offers you a 5 Kms itinerary through the forest. The Mazelière track will enchant the most skilled skiers: 24 Kms (return). Pists are free), skidooing, sledging, games, paragliding, trekking in mountains, off-piste skiing.

There is also ski school, museum, farm and library.
