Ski Holidays in Meribel, France

Méribel lies in the very centre of the Three Valleys, the most popular French ski area and ski holiday destination in the world and with good reason. It is arguably one of France's most attractive ski resorts. A Méribel skiing holiday will give you the opportunity to explore the 375 miles of totally linked piste the Three Valleys has to offer; linking Meribel to the ski resorts of Courchevel and Val Thorens. The lift system is ultra modern (queues are almost unknown here), there is ample skiing in Méribel for all abilities including endless off piste possibilities.

Meribel Ski Resort Areas:

Meribel consists of several different areas, all of which have access to the Méribel skiing area, but will offer a different experience during a Meribel ski holiday, France.

Meribel Les Allues is the main town, normally just referred to as Méribel and a popular choice for a Méribel skiing holiday. Approximately 2 miles out of town is Meribel Village. Developed only a few years ago, this village is very small and up market with luxury apartments and Méribel ski chalets, served by its own chairlift to Meribel Altiport. Méribel le Raffort is another village also just out of town, with one restaurant and a gondola connection to the main ski resort. Raffort is mainly privately run chalets that usually have their own minibus service.

Meribel -Mottaret, usually just called Mottaret is a satellite resort higher up the mountain. It appeals more to the serious skier and with a good choice of ski in, ski out accomodation. A good choice for very early or late season Méribel skiing holiday. It has a very good choice of restaurants and several bars and is a resort that offers something for everyone!

Skiing in Meribel

Beginners: Méribel Altiport area is perfect for learning with new protected areas. Mottaret also has a small protected tow lift for beginners skiing in Meribel.

Intermediates

: Skiing in Méribel and the 3 Valleys is the perfect for intermediates. Take a 3-valley pass and go exploring.

Advanced

: You have several excellent mogul fields plus the famous couloirs in Courchevel and Mont Vallon in Meribel which is a fantastically long and challenging piste with guaranteed snow. Off piste is excellent and we would advise you to take a specialist mountain guide to make the most of it.

Snowboarders

: Apart from endless off piste you have two excellent snow parks. One in Méribel and one in Mottaret. Plus more in Les Menuires and Courchevel.

A six day lift pass will also give you acess to a days skiing in Val d'Isere, Tignes, which is an hour and half away by car or La Plagne or Les Arcs which are an hour away.
