"Great resort, loads of off piste skiing and there was loads of snow when I went. Powder a plenty! The week before half term was almost deserted most days which was fantastic as we had the slopes all to ourselves. There are not too many black runs, but there were enough quality runs to keep us busy for the week. This is quite a quiet resort, both on the slopes and at night. I'll be returning soon!"

Ski Holidays in Puy-St-Vincent, France

Puy St Vincent (or PSV, as it's more commonly known) sits in one of the most stunning settings at the edge of the National Park "Les Ecrins" and is still considered by many to be one of skiing's best kept secrets... Apart from a couple of weeks during French holidays Puy St Vincent is virtually queue free.

Puy St Vincent is made up of 2 bases – modern, purpose built resort (altitude1600) and old village below it (altitude 1400).

PSV is mostly a family resort. There are great nursery runs for beginners, a good ski school and a wide range of child-specific provision. For intermediates, the resort provides a limited number of slopes that will challenge the majority of skiers. For experts there are some decent black pistes and the possibility of guided off-piste.

Puy St Vincent is a good venue at which to learn and have quiet family holidays, but not for people looking for late nights and masses of pistes to bash. Challenges exist for intermediates and advanced skiers, but not enough to keep you busy for a whole week. With the relaxed atmosphere of an unspoilt village, it's worth the visit.
