Ski Holidays in Superdevoluy/La Joue du Loup, France
Often ignored by British snow enthusiasts, Superdevoluy is car free, uncrowded and has a very extensive ski area.
All levels of skier will find something to amuse them in the 100km ski area. For beginners there are nursery slopes in the village centre and easy greens running down from the top of the Chaumettes chair. Plenty of long blues and reds await intermediates at the top of the Festoure and there is also a few blacks for the more adventurous. Experts will find that there are a lot of off piste available, especially if a guide is employed.
Snowboarders are well catered for with a dedicated surfzone, which includes kickers, hits, boardercross and a small pipe.
Apart from on the weekends, when there is some traffic from nearby cities, the slopes are nearly deserted.
Apres ski is quite lively and notable for its absence of any other nationalities. There are plenty of tempting restaurants and small eateries to enjoy.
La Joue du Loup is a smaller village just over the mountain from Superdevoluy. They share the same ski area but Joue du Loup is quieter and more family focused.
