Ski Holidays in Champoluc, Italy
Just below the highest Mountain within Italy, Monte Rosa, lies the unspoilt village Champoluc. Together with Gressoney, Antagnod and Alagna Valsesia it forms the Monte Rosa Ski Area, all covered on the same lift pass.
The 150km of slopes in the Monte Rosa ski area are uncrowded with an emphasis on long and wide reds. Experts on ski holidays in Champoluc will find that with a guide some of the best powder in Italy suddenly appears under their skis, as well as a host of challenging pisted runs. Beginners have a few nursery runs to amuse themselves on during their ski holidays in Champoluc, but there isn’t much scope for progression onto easy reds or long blues. Snowboarders will like the wide slopes and freeriders will find plenty to do, there are little jumps here there and everywhere. There are also very few drag lifts.
Champoluc itself is a charming and unspoilt village with traditional architecture at the top of the Ayas valley. A real effort has been made to keep ugly, modern developments away from this hamlet and it looks like a real blast from the past in places. Don’t let that fool you, however, ski holidays in Champoluc offers most of the conveniences you would expect from a modern resort (including a lively après ski scene) and a whole lot of charm.
