Ski Holidays in Ortisei/St Ulrich, Italy

Ortisei is the principal village of the Gardena Valley, lying 5kms from Selva. Its characteristic centre is full of pastel coloured buildings, boutiques, tea rooms and restaurants. This town, with its old and solid mercantile tradition and rich history, has a particular urban plan that blends harmoniously with the landscape. The centre and its pedestrian only area are a wonderful meeting place but are also ideal for shopping.

Ortisei’s local Alpe di Siusi ski area is a lovely sunny bowl with a wide choice of cruisy scenic runs, whilst the central Seceda gondola connects Ortisei to the Sella Ronda circuit via Santa Cristina, where advanced skiers can try the men’s World Downhill run en-route.

Val Gardena not only has written history due to its winter sports champions, but today it is still the annual meeting point of the world's elite. With its connection to Dolomiti Superski, the world's largest ski carousel and the nearby Alpe di Siusi, it is the eldorado for all winter sports lovers. With the Skipass Dolomiti Superski you have access to all lift facilities in the Dolomites. Low and steep pistes, easy and extreme downhill runs. The most modern lift facilities and romantic alpine hut experiences.

Ortisei resort also offers a spa centre, ice skating, sleigh rides and a thrilling 6km Toboggan Run, great fun though not for the faint hearted. Apres ski is quite lively, the most popular being Siglu Bar and Bar Mauriz providing entertainment into the small hours.

Resort attractions:
Winter walking, Mardolomiti leisure centre with pool & spa centre; bowling, toboganning, sleigh rides in Alpe di Siusi; tennis & squash; bars, shops, craft shops selling handmade wood carvings for which the valley is known; tea rooms, restaurants, pizzerias.
