Snow Conditions in Italy (05 December 2013)
Skiers and snowboarders in Italy have enjoyed sunny skies this week, and although there has been no new snow, more resorts are opening up.
Bardonecchia (40cm/60cm) began the new season on Thursday 5th December with four lifts in operation. There was good skiing on-piste on offer under clear skies and more terrain is set to open throughout the weekend.
After a successful bonus weekend last week Sauze d’Oulx (60cm/100cm) will re-open this weekend for the start of the season proper.
Elsewhere there are still excellent snow bases at both Val Senales (20cm/280cm) and Passo Tonale (50cm/200cm) despite strong sun throughout the week. The best riding at both resorts can be found on-piste with sun-baked snow off piste.
