good size, with a balcony and bathroom with a good shower. The buffet for breakfast was great, and the one for dinner every night was fantastic - lots of choice, cold and hot, healthy and/or more rich, desserts and good soups.

Levi itself is a pretty little place - not exactly pumping like some other ski resorts, but a nice place to spend a week. Two days of skiing on the 'mountain' were fun, but really plenty, and we spent the rest of the week racing huskies, driving snowmobiles, walks at night to look for the Northern Lights and chilling out at the hotel.

A few nice bars in town - we don't normally hang out in Irish bars on holiday, but in this case it was the most happening place in town.

Fantastic for the last minute price, a fun week.

We came across Levi by accident — a half price, half board deal at the Crazy Reindeer. The accomodation is clean and well located to the slopes. The rooms have a fridge and clothes dryer which is excellent. The food is very good, the breakfasts are typical bacon, eggs, salad, cold meats, cereals, porridge, bread and a selection of preserves. The evening meal is soup (home made), salad and a selection of hot meals, including chicken & reindeer along with other typical Finnish dishes. Don't expect chips, beans and burgers or other British-style dishes as you will not get them, pizza and curries are also out. That said I loved the meals — I am not a picky eater. People tend not to drink wine with the meals as you are looking at £17+ per bottle, but you can get as much water as you like, and unlimited fresh juice, coffee and hot chocolate. The service is good and friendly.

Levi is an ideal intermediate ski holiday location. The slopes are short at all levels though the snow is excellant and guaranteed. If you plan on going to Levi you need a face mask and a knowledge of base leyers (you are within the Arctic Circle). The lifts are mostly T bars which is a pain after a while, however the reason for this is the the lift mechanisms can freeze when the weather turns bad. To ski in freezing fog, in a snow stormm while under flood lights is an experience, especially when you can only see 30 feet infront of you. If you are an intermediate to advanced skier don't disregard the resort as the ski school is excellant — they go into the science of skiing. The only down side of the week was the length of the runs.
