Overall

Great place, incredible varied skiing available all over the zillertal. Accomodation was a little shabby and the food was really quite poor although the service at the restaurant was impeccable and very friendly. Holiday reps were very helpful and friendly, they made organisation very easy and showed us where all the best slopes were. What an amazing area, skiing on the hintertux glacier was a highlight, bright white wide slopes high above the clouds, prepare for the cold though on the uncovered chairlifts up there. We went as a young couple and although the apres ski was absolutely fantastic I think there could be more organised events in the evenings. In the ski area directly above the town of mayrfhofen there is the devil's run, a great long black run to test you, and then if you're feeling daring take on the Harikiri, the steepest run in Austria (don't do it in low cloud as I did though, not clever) The only fla is that there is no ski in, ski out. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the slopes and at least that to get back down the penkenbahn. The ski pass gives you access to all the ski buses and trains around the Zillertal, so you won't be bored. Learn how to queue the Austrian way - dynamically!

Apres Ski: 5/5
