Meals - Chalet Brioche, Meribel
Good food is an essential ingredient of every chalet party. The welcoming glass of bubbly and appetising canapés on your first evening sets the tone for a week of tempting cuisine.
Your day starts with a choice of tea or coffee at your bedside (we can leave it outside the door if you prefer). This is followed by a hearty breakfast, including French bacon, tomatoes and a choice of eggs or, if you prefer, porridge; all served with fruit juice, cereals, yoghurt, freshly baked bread, croissants, jams, and a selection of teas and coffee. Once a week your chalet host offers an option of fresh pancakes.
While you are out skiing your host will have laid out afternoon tea for your return – diet-defying cakes, bread, jam, tea, coffee or hot chocolate. First one home puts the kettle on!
Dinner comprises a three-course meal followed by a cheese course, coffee and mints, and all complemented by a selection of extremely palatable French wines.
Chalet Hosts: As well as possessing a flair for entertaining and a genuine love of food, our chalet hosts are friendly, unflappable and exceptionally hard working. Having completed a rigorous pre-season training course, each host is encouraged to manage their chalet as if it were their own home. We find this engenders a commitment to your enjoyment and well-being which makes the atmosphere in our chalets quite different. Our chalet hosts have one day a week off. On this day breakfast will be laid out and fresh bread delivered to your chalet. Your host will be delighted to recommend and book a local restaurant for your evening meal.
