American skier Bode Miller maintains his overall lead in the FIS World Cup standings following an impressive performance at the weekend.

As many snow sports enthusiasts made the most of the weekend weather by enjoying European ski holidays, Miller increased his lead by placing second against Austria's Georg Streitberger in the Kvitfjell super-G this weekend.

Miller performed well in other events, finishing second on Friday February 28th behind Werner Heel of Italy and taking the title in Saturday's downhill race.

Overall in the World Cup standings, Miller has an 185 point lead on closest title-rival Didier Cuche of Switzerland.

Meanwhile, in other FIS World Cup news, Denise Karbon of Italy became the women's World Cup giant slalom champion at the weekend.

She won the title on Saturday after Sunday's race in Zweisel was cancelled due to bad conditions.
