Britons enjoying European ski holidays
this month have been issued with advice on drinking alcohol while on the slopes.
According to the BBC, while apres- ski is an integral part of a ski holiday for many, there are concerns that drinking too much on the slopes could compromise a skier's safety and the safety of those around them.
And those on North America ski holidays
should be aware that some resorts impose fines on drunk skiers and also reserve the right to confiscate their lift pass.
The Ski Club of Great Britain's Betony Garner told the BBC: "Apres-ski is fine, [when] you're off the hill, as long as you're sensible. When you're actually on the mountain, just think about whether you should be drinking."
She noted that altitude can make you get drunk more quickly and that it is important to drink plenty of water.
Sticking to a single drink was also recommended.
