"Wintry conditions" reported in Austria

Date Posted: 9th Apr 2008
Category:  La Plagne News
"Wintry conditions" have been reported in the Austrian region, with fresh snow reported to have fallen on the Hintertux.

According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, those taking late season ski holidays in La Plagne could also be set to benefit after fresh snow fell at the resort earlier this week.

The Ski Club also reported that Switzerland has benefited from colder temperatures and fresh snow.

Across the Atlantic, the US and Canada are also enjoying a cold and wintry April, with Utah and Colorado remaining open for skiing.

In Canada, conditions for snowsports are reported to be "excellent" while snow continues to fall on many areas.

In Whistler, two centimetres of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours, giving the Blackcomb region a perceived snowbase of 265 centimetres.

Whistler is due to close on April 20th 2008 while Blackcomb is scheduled to remain open until June 8th 2008.
