A husband and wife team of winter Olympians have taken the term marital bliss to the next level after scooping a gold medal in pairs figure skating at the ongoing Games in Vancouver.
Winter sports fans taking holidays in Canada were treated to a masterful dance performance from Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo of China, whose routine had a final score of 216.57 points.
The medal standings were dominated by the Chinese as the winners' fellow nationals Pang Qing and Tong Jian won silver, with 213.31 points, followed by Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany, who received 210.60 points.
The winning pair, who came back to the ice after a two-year retirement, have won many accolades and the only gong that was missing from their collection was an Olympic medal.
British pair David King and Stacey Kemp was no match for the three-time world champions after finishing in 16th place with an overall tally of 139.94 points.
