A new career in golf for Team GB snowboarder Ben Kilner?

A new career in golf for Team GB snowboarder Ben Kilner?

Congratulations to Team GB snowboarder, Ben Kilner, who won the Oakley King of Greens golf tournament yesterday. The tournament is an international golf competition for action sports athletes from around the globe.  This year snowboarders, skiers, surfers, skaters, base jumpers and BMX riders headed to Wentworth, UK to compete alongside golf professional Rafa Cabrera-Bello.   Also playing in the tournament were Kilner’s GB team mates Jamie Nicholls and Jenny Jones.

The competition is intended to help athletes improve their mental strength and focus whilst performing in a high pressure situation.  Before the competition, the athletes attended a special mental workshop to help them prepare for the big day.

Already a keen golfer, Ben began playing at the age of 13 in his native Scotland and he now plays a handicap 8 (which is really pretty good as far as amateur golfers go!)He will now go on to play in the celebrity Pro-Am at the BMW PGA Championships at Wentworth today, alongside pro-golfer Rafael Cabrera-Bello. From all at Iglu Ski, good luck Ben!

*EDIT* We are pleased to announce that Ben went on to win the BMW PGA the following day!
