Travellers planning a
ski holiday in Schladming should be pleased with reports that snow has made an early appearance in Austria this year.
According to the Telegraph, slopes in the European snow sport hotspot have been opening more than 6 weeks before the season's official start.
Skiers have been keen to experience the first snowfall on their
ski holiday in Schladming, with the promising early start creating a sense of anticipation among winter-sports fans.
"Austria has had the most snow in the past few weeks," the Ski Club of Great Britain's Betony Garner told the newspaper.
Some resorts in Austria were said by the publication to have some 3 ft of snow already, with resort Hintertux also opening 23 miles of pistes for skiers and snowboarders this weekend.
