Skiers can look forward to an expansive ski trip to France this season with the news that a number of the country's leading resorts have launched a joint ski-pass scheme.
The XXL Pass enables holidaymakers to have a day in another resort for 10 (£6.90) if they hold a lift pass for five days or more for one of a selection of destinations - so travellers enjoying
ski holidays in Meribel, for example, can have a day in a resort such as Les Arcs through the scheme, reports the Ski Club of Great Britain.
Some 12 resorts are participating in the endeavour - as well as Meribel and Les Arcs, Courchevel, La Plagne, La Tania, Les Menuires, St Martin de Belleville, Tignes, Val d'Isere and
Val Thorens ski holidays may all benefit from the new system.
"It's obviously a bit of a trek to go from one ski area to another but for people who have a car and are out in a resort for a while it's a great way to visit another area," commented Al Morgan from The Ski Club's Information Department.
The Association of British Travel Agents recently described France as the number-one destination for Christmas skiers.
