People looking forward to Davos ski holidays
should be pleased to hear that 62 cm of snow fell within 24 hours last weekend.
Trips to the eastern resort - one of the highest in Europe at 1,650 m - look set to be blessed with good ski conditions if this impressive early performance is anything to go by.
Other Swiss resorts including At Antonien, Braunwald and Unteriberg have also received exceptional amounts of the white stuff earlier than usual - the report noted that the last time November saw so much snow was in 1952.
