Norwegian skier Ole Einar Bjorndalen claimed victory in the men's individual biathlon race in South Korea recently, becoming a triple biathlon world champion in the process.
Despite missing a total of three targets in the vital shooting sessions, he skied fastest, finishing the 20-kilometre race in 52 minutes and 28 seconds.
Christoph Stephan of Germany came second in the race, just over 14 seconds behind Bjorndalen.
Jakov Fak of Slovenia took the bronze medal after missing one target and finished 17.1 seconds behing Bjorndalen.
The Norweigan skiier had initially finished third after being handed a one second penalty for skiing off-course, however this was overturned by judges on appeal, reports the Associated Press.
During his career Bjorndalen, who is 35, has clinched five Olympic gold medals and 14 World Championship golds.
He also has a record 87 invidual World Cup victories and became the first athlete to win the FIS Cross Country World Cup race in 2006.
