Snowsports fans enjoying
ski holidays in Kitzbuhel may have seen Bode Miller as he sped by to win his 28th World Cup race in Austria yesterday.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, sealing the win has also left him in a good position for winning the overall World Cup title.
Miller finished 14th in the slalom on Sunday and came second in the downhill the day before losing out on the top spot to Didier Cuche.
The American has also made history by attaining the most American World Cup wins, breaking Phil Mahre's 27 record World Cup win record.
"I knew it was a goal within my reach, and I'm proud to have achieved it. When I was a kid I used to think about becoming the most successful US skier," the Ski Club quoted Miller as saying.
The skier noted that he has had his eye on the record in recent ski seasons as his tally of wins steadily increased.
Now the champion says he is setting his sights on future goals, which will no doubt include the World Cup title.
