Breckenridge and Keystone resorts welcome skiers

Breckenridge and Keystone resorts welcome skiers Two of Vail Resorts' key skiing destinations in Colorado, Breckenridge and Keystone, have opened for the season.

The resorts have been enjoying a good deal of snowfall ahead of the official openings, which took place last week.

At Breckenridge, the opening was particularly historic, held at Peak 8 for the first time in almost 30 years.

The popular resort welcomes a range of upgraded services and luxury amenities to Peak 7 this season and will host the AST Winter Dew Tour at peak 8.

Meanwhile, over at Keystone, a new hi-tech River Run Gondola has replaced the existing model, capable of carrying more passengers. There is now a mid-mountain station too, allowing visitors to disembark and explore Keystone's upper trails.

The announcement preceded news of heavy snowfall across Europe and North America this week.

According to the Daily Mail, a range of resorts on both sides of the Atlantic have been experiencing fresh snowfall that is sure to be enjoyed by skiers.
