British star Jones confident as Winter X Games arrives in Tignes

British star Jones confident as Winter X Games arrives in Tignes Tignes is currently completing its last-minute developments before becoming the first European destination to host the Winter X Games.

For three days from March 10th, the French resort will be displaying the men's and women's ski and snowboard Slopestyle and SuperPipe competitions, alongside holding Snowmobile demos.

Among the transformations to take place will see the venue's Half Pipe being enlarged to meet the demands of the Super Pipe, which will need to be 220 metres long, 18 metres wide and approximately six metres high.

British professional snowboarder Jenny Jones will be among those looking for a strong performance at Tignes, while visitors can also view stars including Norway's Lisa Wilk and homegrown talents Kevin Rolland and Mathieu Crepel.

Jones, who competes in the Slopestyle discipline, recently told the Bristol Evening Post: "This will be a huge event because it is the first time it is being held in Europe, so all the top girls will be taking part.

"I was lucky enough to come away with the gold medal in the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado, so all the girls will be out to beat me. But I'm in good shape and I feel confident."
