UK skiers like to ensure their appearance on the ski slopes is second to none, it has been suggested.
According to Direct Line, skiers spend an average £1,200 on their ski gear and clothing, Fair Investment Company reports.
Furthermore, there is an "increasing trend" for snow sports fans to purchase designer ski equipment, according to Fair Investment Company.
Last year, 1.15 million Britons traveled abroad on ski holidays, according to figures from Direct Line.
Meanwhile, the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) recently reported that 2008 would be a "great year to travel".
Abta also noted that early winter snow means that the 2007-2008 ski season in the Austrian and Swiss Alps is likely to be one of the best seen for sometime.
"Travelling is always an inspiring way of spending our free time and with so many exciting events and enticing destinations, our enthusiasm for overseas holidays in 2008 remains high," said Abta president Justin Fleming.
