This weekend sees the start of the season with Val Thorens, the Espace Killy and Ischgl set to open their slopes on Friday.
The snow seems to be hitting the Northern European resorts the most this weekend with Norway's Voss set for a fantastic 37cm and Sweden's Åre boasting a decent 19cm of snow. Finland is also due a light dusting with Ruka's 5cm of snowfall the highest expected.
The Alps are having a slow start to the season at the moment, but when you consider two years ago Morzine and Avoriaz had no snow in November, then more snow than anywhere in France for February, March and April, there is no need to panic. There is a light dusting of snow arriving this week, so with the snow cannons begging to kick into gear, it's not all bad news for Europe.
The Swiss resorts of Engelberg, Grindelwald, Flims Laax and Wengen are set for upwards of 2cm, while France's Portes du Soleil, Flaine, Megeve and Chamonix should be getting at least 1cm. Austria's St. Anton, Seefeld & Kuhtai should also get some light snowfall as will the Andorran resorts of Arinsal, Pas de la Casa & Soldeu.
Heading across the Pacific and Canada is continuing to boast La Niña conditions. Whistler will benefit from a huge 166cm, offering perfect early season conditions for the resort which opened on Friday. Kicking Horse is looking like a powder hound's dream again this winter, with 65cm of fresh snow this week alone, and the quiet resort boasts some fantastic steep, deep terrain. Heading over to Banff and the Ski Big Three resorts and there is between 20-25cm of snow due in both Lake Louise and Sunshine Village. Heading over to Canada's east coast and the resorts of Mont Saint Anne and Tremblant are expecting around 12-15cm of snowfall.
Heading to the US and the best snow this week is coming to the east coast, with similar snowfall to its Canadian neighbours, as both Stowe and Killington are set for 14cm of fresh snow. Heading further inland and Jackson Hole should get another 6cm top-up and Colorado is forecast a 5cm dusting throughout.
If you've been saving hard since your last ski holiday Whistler is looking like the place to ski this winter, so watch out Val d'Isere the British Columbia resort is after your crown!
