FIS World Ski Championships a 'success'

FIS World Ski Championships a 'success' The International Ski Federation (FIS) has proclaimed the recent FIS World Ski Championships a success.

People on Ski holidays in Are have experienced "one of the most beautiful, best-organised FIS Alpine World Ski Championships we have ever had", according to Gian Franco Kasper, the organisation's President.

Austria won the competition's medals ranking with nine awards - Mr Kasper described their success as a demonstration of the nation's "strength".

The President went on to say that "the superb pictures broadcast from the competitions served as a great commercial for the entire region around Are, not only around Scandinavia but also further beyond".

Ski holidays in Are, renowned for their picturesque setting, cater to skiers of all levels. More advanced skiers meet their match on the World Cup run, while a range of less-challenging slopes ensure that those beginner and intermediate are always occupied.

Sweden's tourist board also boasts of the resort's "snowmobile safaris, dogsleighing" and "ice fall climbing" for sport lovers who want to try something new.
