Half Term Snow Report | 17 Feb 2014

Half Term Snow Report | 17 Feb 2014 It has been another week of huge snowfall across the Alps providing exceptional conditions for the all-important half term week. As one of the busiest weeks of the year, hundreds of British families are waking up to powdery pistes with new snow recorded in France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland yesterday, continuing today. Our agents in Morzine have been enjoying the lion’s share of the powder with 40cm falling in the Portes du Soleil. The 3 Valleys received another 30cm with the rest of France, including Tignes and Val d’Isere, receiving another 20cm.

In Austria, after good snowfall across much of the Ski Welt on Friday it was Ischgl who received an additional 20cm yesterday. The snow has continued today with 25cm of fresh powder being welcomed in St Anton, Lech and Kaprun.

Switzerland continued their impressive start to the season with up to 30cm falling in Davos, Saas Fee and Verbier yesterday which topped up the 20cm that had previously fallen on Friday. Overnight St Moritz also received a whopping 44cm opening to perfect bluebird conditions today.

Italy has also recorded good snowfall of up to 30m overnight which has continued throughout Monday.

If you are out in resort this week you are sure to enjoy some of the best conditions of the season. With over 300cm recorded in several resorts March skiing is also set to be terrific.
