Carlo Janka believes that his more experienced countryman Didier Cuche is the man they all have to beat in the men's downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Janka is seen as one of the chief young talents of Swiss skiing and backed up his potential by winning two medals at the World Championships in
Val D'Isere last year, including gold in the giant slalom.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old also took victory in the downhill event during the World Cup stop in Wengen, Switzerland, last month.
However, he feels that his 35-year-old team-mate Cuche will be a tough nut to crack in the downhill in Canada, particularly after he posted the quickest time during a training run on the
Whistler course.
According to Reuters, Janka said: "Cuche is the favourite, clearly. He has the experience, the course suits him and his thumb is not bothering him at all. He's the one to beat."
Doubts surfaced recently on whether Cuche would be fit to take to the slopes in Vancouver after fracturing a thumb, but successful surgery means he will line-up in his fourth Winter Olympics.
