Join Eddie ‘The Eagle’ for a skiing World Record in March in Saalbach

Join Eddie ‘The Eagle’ for a skiing World Record in March in Saalbach Take part in Ski 4 Cancer’s Everest Challenge on Thursday 9th March 2017 on the slopes in one of Austria’s premier ski areas, Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, alongside Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards.

The UK ski charity Ski 4 Cancer is calling for skiers and snowboarders to join in the new World Record where there will decend the height of Mount Everest (29, 029ff) as one large group in an aim to raise funds for Ski 4 Cancer at the same time.

Andy Hayward, Trustee at Ski 4 Cancer said “We’re looking for 500 skiers from across Europe who want to become World Record holders! In this unique event, skiers from lots of different countries will be united by a disease which affects us all irrespective of nationality. Skiing the height of Mount Everest in one day is a tough challenge though, even for advanced skiers like Mr Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards!”

Andy concluded “We all know someone who has been affected by cancer… nearly 1,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer every day. So why not do something extraordinary this year and come and join us! Become a World Record holder alongside Eddie ‘The Eagle’ and help people living with cancer at the same time.”

The ski areas is one of the largest in Austria with 270 km of pistes and 70 high speed lifts across the resorts. Wolfgang Breitfuß, Director of Tourism at Saalbach said “We are proud to be hosting this event on the slopes of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. We are incredibly proud of our World Class facilities. They are perfect for a World Record attempt like this and we look forward to welcoming the Ski 4 Cancer team again in March.”
