Ka-Pow It's Dumping Again

Ka-Pow It's Dumping Again

Wow! There's so much snow falling this week it's untrue.

This weekend there is pretty much half a metre of snow falling, yes half a metre of snow. That's enough to close London for a week, to bury a banzai plant or to make some serious grown ups whoop and scream their way down the mountain like a bunch of kids getting a snow day off school.

France is have a crazy season for snow, with the white stuff falling in regular large dumps. It's heavenly in Alpe d'Huez, Deux Alpes, the Three Valleys, Paradiski and Espace Killy right now, not to mention the Portes du Soleil and Grand Massif. If you don't already love skiing in France, you will after this season!

  • Alpe d'Huez 49cm
  • Courchevel 44cm
  • La Plagne 43cm
  • Les Arcs 45cm
  • Les Deux Alpes 52cm
  • Meribel 43cm
  • Morzine cm
  • Tignes 44cm
  • Val d'Isere 43cm
  • Val Thorens 43cm

Austria has um, pa, pa'd its way into the snow god's good books with a massive arrival of powder this weekend. Again half a metre of snow with the Arlberg getting over 50cm of the stuff, and that's only at the mid-station. Pack those powder skis and a German dictionary.

  • Ischgl 44cm
  • Lech 54cm
  • Kitzbuhel 45cm
  • Mayrhofen 35cm
  • St. Anton 47cm

Switzerland is the home of the British skiing holiday and the first hotel dedicated to skiing guests, and you can see why. An awesome snow record this season is being topped up with another weekend whiteout. Up to 50cm is forecast and the slopes were already incredible.

  • Davos 34cm
  • Saas Fee 40cm
  • St. Moritz 22cm
  • Verbier 50cm
  • Zermatt 41cm

Italy is known for pizza, pasta and speeding scooter drivers, but the snow, friendly locals and great food makes the mountains amazing too. This weekend sees another good forecast of snow and the slopes looking in great shape.

  • Arabba 24cm
  • Cervinia 43cm
  • Sauze d'Oulx 27cm
  • Selva 18cm
  • Sestriere 24cm

I haven't been this excited about snow since, well, last week. But that doesn't make it any less incredible. We are looking at one of the best Februarys in years.
