Thanks to the current La Niña developing in the Pacific the snow conditions in North America are looking likely to continue to improve over the coming week.
Canada is once again making the most of the early season snow, Whistler is set for 36cm of fresh stuff, with Kicking Horse expecting 23cm. Silver Star, Big White, Panorama and Fernie are also expecting double figure snowfall over the next few days, to help with their forthcoming opening days.
Heading south to the USA and conditions are again looking good. Jackson Hole, the Teton's famous powder resort, is boasting the heaviest dump, with 28cm of fresh snow. Park City and Deer Valley are both expecting upwards of 10cm of snow, as are the Lake Tahoe resorts of Heavenly, Squaw Valley and Northstar. Colorado is also expecting some decent snow, with Aspen, Steamboat, Beaver Creek, Vail and Breckenridge all due a dusting of up to 10cm.

Jackson Hole is already looking good.
Heading back to Europe and the Pyrenees are having a bright week in terms of snow. Formigal, Spain's most renowned resort, is set to benefit from upwards of 18cm of fresh snow, with 12cm due to fall tomorrow alone. Another Spanish resort set for a dusting this week is Bagueria, with Andorra's Arinsal following suit.
The popular Scandinavian resorts of Åre, in Sweden, and Levi, Ruka & Yllas, in Finland, are all due some new snow this week. The four resorts, along with some of the region's lesser known resorts, can all expect upwards of 5cm in the next couple of days.
The snow is starting to take shape, with Europe's glaciers, Scandinavia and the high North American resorts all looking a good bet for some pre-Christmas snow. You can check out the snow forecast, snow history and snow reports of your favourite resorts on our site throughout the winter.
