Two French ski resorts have featured in a list of the top-ten ski resorts for beginners.
According to the Guardian, novice skiers and snowboarders would do well to opt for
ski holidays in Les Arcsand
ski holidays in Tignes.
Les Arcs entered the list at number one thanks to its good variety of nursery slopes, while it was also described to have a fine range of more difficult slopes - perfect for those of different standards on
family ski holidays.
Meanwhile, Tignes was placed at eighth on the list, with particular credit being accorded to the resort for its provision of women's facilities.
"Tignes is high and snow-sure and has a very good range of nursery, intermediate and expert slopes, accommodation, non-skiing activities and apres-ski. It also has a well-established women's-only course run by Skiworld," the publication noted.
Tignes claims to be one of only two ski areas in France listed as snow-sure resorts according to The Good Ski & Snowboarding Guide 2005.
