Les Arcs cable car refurb

Les Arcs cable car refurb People accustomed to taking their ski holidays in Les Arcs will notice something a little different when they step out onto the slopes this season.

The resort's famous Aiguille Rouge cable car, which takes skiers and snowboarders up to the highest point of Les Arcs (3226m), has been given a colourful makeover.

At the end of August, the two cabins made the short trip to Switzerland where a lick of paint saw them transformed before being returned to France in November.

They were reinstalled on November 29th in time for the new ski season, so everyone enjoying a ski holiday in Les Arcs this winter can make the great ascent to the resort's highest point in style.

Les Arcs officially opens its pistes on December 16th, while the Paradiski, which also incorporates the slopes of Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne, opens a week later.

Together, they provide skiers with 239 runs covering a distance of 425 kms, one of the biggest ski areas in the world.
