As we draw another week closer to Christmas the snow is still falling throughout the top resorts. Whistler is definitely looking like a great location for a white Christmas after a storming month for snow that sees the resort get another 60cm this coming week.
France again is boasting a nice pre-season dusting with 25cm expected in the Portes Du Soleil resorts of Chatel, Les Gets and Morzine. Megeve, St. Gervais and Flaine are set to receive around 20cm of snow and the Three Valleys is expecting light snowfall of 10cm+. Add all this to the -10°C and below temperatures and the snow cannons on full blast the conditions are looking good.
Switzerland has also enjoyed fantastic snowfall's this month, with the resorts of Villars, Kandersteg and Flims-Laax leading the way with 25cm, 16cm and 15cm respectively this week.
The whole of Austria this week appears to be benefitting from a late November snow storm with most of the top resorts enjoying between 15 & 20cm of freshies. Seefeld, Solden and Obergurgl boasting the most snowfall with consistent snow falling throughout the Austrian Alps.
The US is again having a good week with Mt. Hood, unsurprisingly, leading the snow charts with around 50cm of fresh snowfall and the resorts of Squaw Valley and Jackson Hole enjoying a respectable 20cm of November pow. After Whistler, Kimberley is topping Canada's conditions with a light 20cm and Kicking Horse isn't too far behind.
A final round up sees Spain's top resort of Formigal receiving decent snow along with the Italian resorts of La Thuile, Courmayeur and Selva. The Bulgarian resorts of Borovets and Bansko are also looking forward to some late autumn snow this week with upwards of 10cm falling.
Overall conditions are looking good and there are only three weeks until our first European charters take to the air, it really is time to dust off your skis, unpack your favourite jacket and check your bank balance.
See you there,
The Snowman
