Inexperienced skiers looking for a destination to enhance their confidence and skills may want to head to
Obergurgl in Austria, it has been suggested.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the destination is usually covered in snow for half of the year between November and May and is often on the quieter side.
This allows for more practice, less queuing and a reduction in the concern of being wiped out by others on the slopes.
The publication notes that the visitors will also avoid embarking on long walks as all runs are within close proximity to a ski lift, while the views generated from the lifts tend to be panoramic.
Meanwhile, good English is reportedly spoken on the slopes for those taking a lesson, with children as young as four able to join in.
Overall, it is stated that Obergurgl is an "excellent area for beginners, timid intermediates and families", while being "especially good for a late-season holiday" due to its high levels of snow reliability.
The destination is perhaps most famed due to the unintentional visit of Swiss explorer Auguste Piccard in 1931 during his historic balloon flight.
