Park City Working On $7 Million Upgrades

Park City Working On $7 Million Upgrades

Park City will be undergoing $7 million of upgrades this summer that range from new beginner facilities and chairlifts to four new piste bashers and improvements to the snowmaking facilities.

"We remain devoted to creating a premier on-mountain experience for all of our guests," said Jenni Smith, President and General Manager of Park City Mountain Resort. "This season’s improvements will allow us to meet the expectations of our guests and provide enjoyable Resort experiences for families, terrain park enthusiasts, and skiers and riders of all abilities."

The resort has invested in a new beginner area, located near to the resort base and will include two magic carpet style lifts. The area will be kept exclusively for beginner skier and snowboarders to enjoy their lessons in a private learning area. The 3 Kings lift, which accesses the 3 Kings Park area, will be getting an upgrade from its current two-man chairlift and should be able to double its current capacity, the park will also benefit from a 22-foot Superpipe next season.

Other work in the resort includes upgrading the base lift stations to electronic lifts passes, replacing four of the current piste bashers with brand new machines and new snow guns, which will enhance the early-season while also improving the productivity and energy efficiency of the resort's snowmaking.

The improvements are all scheduled for completion in time for the beginning of the winter season in November. The $7 million investment shows why Park City remains one of the top US resorts.
