Snow Flash

This week's snow report is carrying on from the trend of previous weeks with a fantastic amount of snow falling once again. This time around France and Switzerland are the main beneficiaries with up to 75cm of fresh powder falling.

France again is benefitting from a huge snowstorm with the Haute Savoie resorts (Chamonix, Megeve) gaining the most snow at up to 75cm and the Southern Alps resorts such as Alpe d'Huez not far behind with 73cm of snow. The Tarantaise resorts of the Three Valleys, La Plagne and Les Arc are all expecting around 50cm too.

Switzerland is also enjoying a fine start to the season with 50cm of snow expected in Verbier, Nendaz and Crans Montana. Zermatt isn't far behind with 41cm on its way and Saas Fee is expecting a 30cm top up.

Italy is the next resort to enjoy a good dusting this week with Cervinia topping the charts at 43cm and the Aosta Valley & Courmayeur not far behind with 41cm of the white stuff. La Thuile is expecting decent snowfall of 38cm and Arabba rounds off the great weather with a light 16cm fall.

North America is also looking forward to a light dusting, though it isn't quite expecting to be as big as the European dump we're looking forward too. Canada's uber resort of Whistler has a healthy 21cm of powder while the big American resorts of Aspen, Beaver Creek, Steamboat and Mt. Hood are expecting similar conditions.

The winter is fast approaching and it looks like those early December deals will be benefitting from a fantastic base and some great skiing. 12th December here I come...
