Snow report | 15 Mar 2017

Climates turn to spring conditions in the Alps as sunshine starts to dominate after the fantastic snow falls at the start of the month. Piste quality is overall still excellent in many areas of Europe but will be getting soft in the afternoons as the sun gets stronger and temperatures rise.

In the past 7 days the freshest snow has fallen in Austria, Switzerland, USA and Canada, with top snowfalls including 65 cm of fresh snow in Laax (Switzerland) and 55 cm in Kaprun (Austria).

Sun, sun and more sun will dominate many resorts in the Alps for the rest of the week before the snow gods make a comeback and blast the mountains with even more snow from this weekend. It is forecast to start heavily snowing in Austria from Friday night, in France from Monday, and in Switzerland and Italy on Tuesday.
