Iglu Ski live from Avoriaz: Look at all the snow after hiking up the Fornet Bowl at sunrise this morning. Excellent early season snow conditions in Avoriaz

Snow News

With lots more snow in Europe and the Canada, even more resorts are now opening.

The majority of ski resorts don’t open until the start of December, but our first customers heading to St Anton, Val Thorens, Obergurgl, Zermatt and Tignes on 6th Decemeber must be getting very excited for fantastic conditions on their ski holiday!

France

One of our senior sales experts, Christian, is now based in Morzine for the season, so he will be giving regular updates on conditions in the Portes du Soleil ski area this winter. They had 50cm of fresh snow in Avoriaz this weekend; take a look at the powder on the slopes:

There's been lots of snow in Val d’Isere the past week, and another 15cm fell overnight on Saturday making the local webcams looking very snowy:

Switzerland

Conditions in Zermatt are fantastic for this time of year. Many ski instructors and season staff are making the most of the snow and heading out to the resort for pre-season training. The snowpark crew are working on building up the park for the start of winter; currently there is one feature open and ready for action. More snow is predicted today, so look out for even better snowy photos tomorrow.

Austria

More resorts have opened in Austria, including Obergurgl which now has 13 lifts open.

Athletes from all over the world have been in Dachstein this weekend for the 2014 Pleasure Jam. Team GB’s Aimee Fuller came in 5th place in her first competition of the season. After qualifying in first place to the semi-finals, Rowan Coultas came in 6th overall in the snowboard Slopestyle competition. A top start to the ski season for British ski and snowboarding with stunning conditions on the Dachstein glacier.

Canada

Lake Louise was the first Canadian resort to open for the 2014-15 ski season after cooler temperatures and ample snowfall to Banff. After opening on Thursday, the snow was good enough to open a further 15 new runs yesterday.

With over 10 inches of snow blanketing the mountains the past week, Sunshine Village is now open and spinning it’s lifts for the ski season. After opening weekend, the conditions are now very sunny so the resort is eagerly waiting to receive the next dump.
