Snow Report | 21 Dec 2014: Top 5 Photos from this Week

Snow Report | 21 Dec 2014: Top 5 Photos from this Week It’s no secret that the Alps aren’t in the best state at the moment, but snow conditions are better than some of the press is reporting. It is still early season so are we panicking too early? Many resorts are open and there is great skiing to be had.

Zermatt has been able to open 247km of pistes of the total 360km whilst the 3 Valleys currently have 130 pistes open for skiers and snowboarders.

There was fresh snow in many resorts midweek although the increase in temperatures across Europe has washed away most of the new snowfall. USA, Canada, Norway and Andorra seem to have the best early season conditions whilst some resorts closer to home are in good shape. Resorts in the Dolomites (Italy) have up to 260cm base at the summit; Hintertux (Austria) has up to 200cm on the glacier and 100cm in Val Thorens (France).
