Following a week of Siberian levels of cold, gorgeous sunshine and essentially, perfect skiing conditions— as long as you've remembered your thermals — we are looking at another weekend of snow.
Having seen a light dusting across Wimbledon overnight, the snow is making its way back toward the Alps for the weekend, with more snow expected throughout next week. The Alps are getting a good little top-up, with upwards of 10cm expected in many resorts. Add in the -20°c temperatures and the use of snow cannons, and the pistes will be looking at their pristine best throughout the half term holidays for the first time in recent years.
Austria is benefitting from light snowfall today and through until early next week. The likes of Lech, St. Anton and St. Johann in Tirol are forecast up to 15cm of fresh snow. Soll, Alpbach and Seefeld should see around 12cm of snow by the end of Tuesday and Ischgl is expecting a light 7–10cm of super cold powder.
France is a similar story with the likes of Morzine, Les Gets and Chatel all expecting around 10cm of fresh snow, Megeve is forecast around 8cm of snow and the Tarantaise Valley is having a light dusting — though more snow is expected next week. Whether you are heading to Val d'Isere, Meribel, La Rosiere or La Tania, it will be über cold with around 3cm of fresh snow. So expect high-speed, corduroy pistes in the mornings, perfect for blasting around these super huge ski areas.

Switzerland is, unsurprisingly, looking the same. Verbier, Zermatt and Saas Fee are all forecast a 3cm of snow and more cold weather. As is Italy, with Selva, Cervinia and Arabba adding to the tree tops and resorts roofs, with 3cm of snow.
The biggest snowfalls this weekend are in Scandinavia and Bulgaria! Åre in Sweden boasts a cracking 32cm of powder, while Voss in Norway should see 24cm of fresh snow. Borovets, Bankso and Pamporovo in Bulgaria are all forecast a much needed 23cm of fresh snow.
Across the Atlantic and Colorado in the US is set for a decent dump over the next few days. Steamboat boasts the biggest snowfall of the weekend, with 34cm of snow, 13 of which are forecast for today alone. Aspen is forecast a decent looking 24cm of snow, in time for the busy half-term slopes and the mad skiers haven of Telluride should benefit from around 25cm of fresh snow. Beaver Creek, Crested Butte, Snowmass and Vail are all forecast around 20cm of fresh stuff too.
Heading North and there's also fresh snow in Canada over the weekend. Whistler is forecast a 14cm top-up, kicking Horse is expecting around 9cm of snow and Jasper should see up to 5cm of fresh snow.
So, wherever your heading over the next couple of weeks, the mountains will no doubt be in great shape. A season of regular snowfall, proper mountain temperatures and snow cannons put to good use means amazing piste skiing and perfectly placed, well maintained bumps — if you're that way inclined. If it carries on like this, we'll be skiing well into May!
